I think writing about anything that can be researched is a great topic. You’ll need references, so find something with lots of facts and that you can break it down so the audience can absorb it…you’ll feel more comfortable presenting it.

I believe if you pick topics that you are somewhat familiar with, speaking about it will be “easier.” I love to cook, garden, craft, sports, etc., so for my speech topic, I will either speak about the art of making yeast bread(and bring in some “visuals” of warm loaves) or how to decoupage(craft). Both topics I partake of and I will actually find joy in researching. If you play sports, have a certain hobby, speak a foreign language…the topics are endless! Don’t forget some form of visuals, too. Powerpoint or something tangible that the audience can view. Finally, practice, practice, practice! Don’t wait until the night before to work on your speech! It will come across to the audience as just that.

I am in grade 6 and this website is unfortunately not helping me. Pease think about adding some new and fresh ideas! One great idea is to do your interpertation on the year 2012, is the world really going to end???

Hi, I am supposed to be giving an informative speech for my public speaking class and I have know idea what I want to do. It has to be 4-5 minutes long. I was thinking about doing it over ghost hunting… but I’m not too sure about that topic and how others will react. I know I want to have an interesting and fun topic that my senior class will enjoy. Our introduction has to grab the audience. Any advice or topics that you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
